Future Teacher Grants ($250 per group)


Qualifications

  1. Club or student group submitting an application must be in a school district or institution that is a current MAEE member.
  2. Club or student group submitting an application must be a secondary or college/university level group.

Criteria for Completing an Application for FTA Grant

In an effort to evaluate grant proposals, groups must follow the criteria listed below carefully. Failure to do so will result in an application being invalid and not considered.
  1. Show evidence that group membership is representative of the school or university community.
  2. Has a defined purpose that promotes interest in the teaching profession.
  3. Has a program of activities designed to enhance interest in the teaching profession. Please include documentation of previous year's activities or proposed activities for a charter group.
  4. Widely promotes awareness and informs school and university community of group's purpose and activities. Please include documentation with flyers, newspaper clippings, press releases, etc.
  5. Gives evidence that members are involved in educational activities that enhance the teaching profession in providing service to other students (i.e. mentoring, tutoring, classroom assistance, Special Olympics, etc.)
  6. Substantiates need for grant funding with documentation of need, current budget and projected expenditures.

Expectations for Grant Award Recipients

  1. Clear documentation of program implementation and how funds were used.
  2. Submission of grant evaluation form/final report to MAEE. Should include copies of letters, clippings, pictures, etc. where appropriate.
All grant requests must be received by April 15th in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered. MAEE reserves the right to withdraw funding or request return of funds if final evaluation/follow-up is not completed by the group receiving the funds.
